Circular Column Chart

Description

Circular column chart is another type of bar/column chart. It displays bars on a polar axis instead of a line axis. The bars start from the center and extend outwards. Its layout is pretty, but it’s difficult to compare the value each other.

When to Use

Circular column chart can be used when there are a large number of bars to show, but has very limited space for the chart. And when tired of using the normal bar/column chart, and want something pretty for “eye catching”.

Dos

  • Always start at zero baseline
  • Use consistent colors throughout the chart

Don'ts

  • Don’t use shadow effects
  • Don’t use 3D effects
